Iyengar Yoga
Register now for an 8 week session of Iyengar yoga from March 8 - May 3. A Discovery class is offered on Thursdays from 9:30-10:45am and Flow class is also on Thursdays from 1:30-2:30pm. All levels of experience are welcome.

Fairytale Dance
The perfect class for 3-5 year olds. Children will take part in dancing, crafts, songs and creative play. An 8 week session is available from March 8 - May 3. Thursdays from 9:30-10:45.

A fun way to introduce your two year old to the joy of dance. Moms are invited to join their child in an introduction to the basics of jazz and ballet, in a fun and bonding experience.
Three year olds enjoy a gentle and fun introduction to dance through movement, rhythm, and creativity. Emphasis is on interaction through various themes in 30 minute classes in 12-week sessions.
Four year old dancers will enjoy this introduction to dance. Classes are a combination of beginner jazz, ballet, tap and acro movements. Classes are 45 minutes weekly. Session classes and boy's only classes are available.
Five year old dancers receive training in ballet and jazz to prepare the foundation for further classes.
The ISTD ballet syllabus provides a worthwhile sense of achievement for the recreation dancer, while providing the strength and flexibility needed for those pursuing a career in classical ballet. Primary Ballet begins at 6 years old. Level 3 Ballet students and up dance twice weekly, or once weekly for 2 years at the teacher’s discretion.
Tap includes learning the technique of sound quality, rhythm, style and a variety of combinations from the Al Gilbert syllabus. Minimum age is 6 years old. Older students will be placed at the teacher’s discretion.
Acro is a unique form of dance that combines gymnastic movements with dance steps. Minimum age is 6. Older students will be placed at the teacher’s discretion.
Following the ISTD syllabus, our jazz classes have a contemporary style. Dancers learn postural placement, clean lines, musicaliry and creative expression. Minimum age is 6 years old. Older students will be placed at the teacher’s discretion. At the Jazz 5 level, students must take ballet if they wish to be examined.
Dance at its rawest form, hip hop combines urban dance movements to produce a high energy rhythmic dance style. Minimum age is 7 years old. No exam offered.
Dance Alive is a performing troupe for driven students that wish to have more performance opportunities. It is offered on Friday nights to dancers aged 7 and up. The main focus is on choreography and performance in a variety of styles. The dancer must have a minimum one-year dance experience and be studying both ballet and jazz at Invitation to Dance. Conditioning, Across The Floor and Open choreography all in one class for our more advanced students! Conditioning will focus on flexibility, abdominal strength and correct postural alignment. Across the Floor and Open class will work on our students affinity for leaps and turns and to expose them to new forms of choreography. This class is for students in Level 4 of Jazz and higher only.
Specialized classes for boys only in Hip Hop and Preschool. These classes will utilize athleticism and strength to develop confidence and camaraderie.

Students are not required to attend extra classes in preparation for in school exams. The examiner is a qualified dance instructor from outside the studio, who understands the capabilities of young children. On completion of the exam, the student will receive a graded certificate and a detailed report. There is a small charge ($20) to cover the cost of the exam.
If necessary, extra classes may be offered in preparation of a major exam at a minimal charge. Dedicated attendance at class is very important when preparing for exams.
Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) holds exams in Calgary annually. Students in Ballet 5 and up will be informed well in advance if they are ready to take an exam. Prices vary according to the level, and are set by ISTD.
